Preparation.

I'm being prepared for motherhood. I've been waking up, STARVING, at 3am every morning. Without fail. I'm sure it's preparation for someone else waking up hungry during the night.

Meanwhile, my husband and I went on a cleaning frenzy. Our house is so clean and pretty! No junk piles to be seen! And my Aunty and Uncle gave us a rocking chair for the baby's room. It's so awesome. Yay!

I've got one week and three days to go. My doctor doesn't think I'll go overdue, so that's good. At the appointment yesterday, my BP was still high, but I've got a follow-up appointment at the hospital next Tuesday, so we'll see what they say then. My doctor said that they may decide to induce me. That would be good. The 3rd of January is a good date. Apparently the baby's dropped a bit, for real this time. And it's visible, too. It looks much lower.

Sorry I don't have much to say. But I'm hungry (again), so I'm going to have some lunch. :o)

My last day.

I'm so glad this is my last day of work. In fact, I have 1 hour to go! Yippee!!!

At my doctor appointment yesterday, my blood pressure was even higher than it was on Tuesday. The doctor sent me to the hospital for some tests, and although my BP was even HIGHER at the hospital, the baby was fine and very active. All the other tests came back normal, so they sent me home. It felt like a waste of time, and it still didn't explain my high BP, but I guess it's best to be on the safe side. I had half hoped that they'd have to induce me. But no. No baby yet. :o)

I'd better get back to work for an hour. I'll post when I can get over to Mum's house and use her broadband.

Awww, how sweet.

I had a really nice lunch, and received a huge bunch of flowers. Also, surprisingly, the guys didn't talk about work all the time as they are usually inclined to do. Even more surprisingly, they asked some questions about the baby (names, hospital, etc). Sure, each answer brought about a barrage of stories that were only remotely related to what we were originally talking about, but that was okay. Like, I told them about the other hospital I could have chosen, that's reasonably close to where I live. Turns out, one of the guys used to work in that suburb, and told a story about some guy testing out a model boat in a water fountain nearby. See? Kind of related, but no. But I have flowers! Huge flowers! And I had a freshly squeezed pineapple juice (oh my goodness, it was so good) and a chicken, avocado, tomato and cheese open grill. Next time I go there (maybe even tomorrow, if I can con my husband into taking me), I am getting a mango passionfruit cheesecake. My two favourite types of cheesecake, together at last. My boss even thanked me for my years of faithful service, and was all nice and stuff. He said that his short speech was a prelude to 'Friday's formalities'. I don't even know what that means.

Speaking of cake, I got a carrot cake recipe from www.allrecipes.com, that I am so going to try out and take to our Christmas lunch. Apparently, it is a really good cake. So saith the 315 people who've reviewed the recipe, and given it an average of 5 stars. So yes, it should be good. What do you think? I'm going to be so busy on Friday and Saturday, with all the baking I'm doing. I hope I can do all the wonderful recipes justice. They all look so very yummy.

Work is almost over.

I only have 1 1/2 days left of work. Well, kind of. There's half of today (since the day's half over), tomorrow I leave at 12:00, and Friday I leave at 11:00. 1 1/2 days. Oh, how I love that thought. Let's ponder that for a moment, shall we? Ahhhhhhhh. That was nice.

So, yesterday my doctor said that my blood pressure was a little high. So I have to go back tomorrow for another appointment, so she can keep an eye on it. I like going to the doctor, because then I get to hear my baby's heartbeat and everything. And maybe the baby will have dropped a bit by then! We can only hope. Please, little one? I keep talking to it, saying "Come on, {baby's name}. Just drop down into mummy's pelvis. You can do it."

Meanwhile, the baby's heartbeat was 128bpm. Does this seem a bit low? I only ask because it went down from 136 last Tuesday to 128 this Tuesday. Maybe my baby's just huge. I've been thinking that, actually. I have a pretty huge belly. Oh well. It'll be fine, I'm sure. I'll try not to freak out too much.

My work people are taking me out for lunch today. It's kind of weird, since I'm a very pregnant 22-year old woman going to lunch with two middle-aged men. Oh well, it's free. Can't complain. :o)

I'm so bored. I have nothing at all to do at the moment. Help me!

My favourite Christmas carol is God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen. I think. I like the minor-key-ness of it. It's cool. Mariah Carey's version is very awesome.

We've finished our Christmas shopping! Yay! I just have to wrap the presents and bake some cookies, and we're all set. Only 4 days until Christmas! That means it's only 2 weeks and 4 days until the baby's due. Yay for that too, but in an 'oh no, what am I doing?' kind of way. I'm in denial about the pain factor. My sister mentioned hours and hours of excruciating pain, and I said "No, it's 20 minutes of not-so-bad pain! Get it right!"

That's all I have for now. Going out to lunch soon. Joy of joys.

My apologies.

I'm sorry for not updating, especially since from the end of the week I'll probably only be able to update every Thursday or Friday. I've been training my replacement, and most of our time together consists of her waiting around for me to give her something to do, and me not having anything for her to do (or me to do, for that matter). So she waits, and I wait, and we both just stand/sit there being bored. Seriously, for some reason my boss brings her in three days a week. My job hardly has enough work for one person, let alone two. Hence the boredom.

Remember how I said that the baby had dropped a little bit? Well, it went back up again. Apparently they do that sometimes (until they get lodged in the pelvis). Frustrating, because I thought we were moving forward a bit, and perhaps the baby would come soon. But no. Oh well, if I haven't given birth by the 17th of January, that will be my induction date. I'll be 41 weeks and 2 days pregnant. I'm really hoping for a birth between the 2nd and 8th of January (the 8th is my due date). We'll see.

Yesterday morning, I was extremely sick. After breakfast, I was having major stomach pains. It was like a tummy bug, but ten times worse than any I've ever had. After about an hour of severe pain, I vomitted and was better within a couple of minutes. But man, it was horrible.

I'm going now. It's almost time to start work. This is my last week! Yay! I'm so excited. Oh, and Christmas is in 6 days! Yippee!

It's been a while...

Since I something something something, la la la la la. I don't know the words. You know that song... by that band. Yeah, that one. I would do some internet research and find out exactly what I'm talking about, but not gonna.

Our church's Christmas Carols Extravaganza was on last night! It was so cool. I loved it. And I somehow managed to hit all the high notes, even the ones in O Holy Night. Man, that song is high. But over 30 people made a decision to follow God! Yay!

I'm currently in the process of training my boss's daughter. She's taking over my job when I leave in two weeks. :o) It's very exciting. To tell you the truth, this training stuff is boring. Because my job isn't the most fast-paced job on the face of the earth, it's very hard to find things for her to do. Last Friday, we had to resort to hanging a string of Christmas cards from the roof, and me telling her to check the paper trays on the photocopier once in a while, to make sure there's enough paper. I really mustn't do much in this job. There are some busy days, but most are pretty slow. If I left today, I bet she'd do just fine.

Apparently, as of last Tuesday, my baby's head is 4/5 above the pelvis. Which means that it's 1/5 below the pelvis. Which means that it's on it's way down! It feels like it's dropped more during this past week, but I'll find out tomorrow at my doctor appointment. This is fun. :o)

The end.
